The wind rose can be made up of 4, 8, or 16 points and represents in a simple way, with a graphic sign, the origins of the winds blowing in a certain area of the world during a certain period of time.

Homer makes this clear right away when he speaks of the four main winds: Borea, Euro, Noto, and Zephyr. We can also call it the “star of the winds” or “symbol of the winds,” it is and remains a diagram that summarizes without too many words, which is appreciated by sea-goers, where the winds come from and where they go, during a rather long period of time.

THE MATERIAL.

La Terracotta consists of a clay mixture that is fired at a temperature of 980-990° C. The typical reddish color is due to the conspicuous presence of iron substances. Resistant to frost, heat, thermal changes and brackish, over time it becomes almost a unique element with the surrounding natural environment. In fact, it is not uncommon for lichens and moss to settle on the surface, creating different textures and designs, which will make each object a unique, exclusive and personal piece.
