History and symbolism

The obelisk is a monolithic monument which has its origins in ancient Egypt. Together with the pyramids, it is one of the greatest expressions of Egyptian monumental art. It is characterized by the elongated and thin quadrangular shape, ending with a pyramidal tip.

The Egyptians believed that the Sun god resided in them and the Pharaohs used to place them in pairs at the entrance of the temples and in specific points of the cities in order to favor their fecundity and the circle of benevolent energies. Luana red marble is a historical marble quarried from the Apuan Alps in Versilia with an original and lively colouring. The slabs are crossed by undulating veins coloured in different shades of red and interrupted by some white inserts. The texture of Luana Red marble is lamellar or serpentine and gives the material an elegant matt effect. Luana Red is widely used in local construction, especially for outdoor use and in particular for floors, stairs, tables and fireplaces.

White Carrara marble has a pearly white background tone with more or less present and evident grayish veins. It naturally enhances antiques and fine dark woods, but also fits stylishly into more modern designer contexts.
